I needed a laptop was powerful, stable and had a good screen; the HP 17-1190 delivers on all these things.
The Good --
- Incredibly powerful, having Photoshop, Google Chrome, Itunes and Skype open at the same time makes no dent in the performance.
- The quality of the screen and graphics is superb. Gaming is a joy on this.
- The sound of the laptop is AMAZING. Watching Blu-Ray DVD's on this laptop is really enjoyable.
- The design is beautiful, big but slimline and the backlit keyboard is a really nice touch.
- Lot's off different ports.
The Bad --
- It does run a bit hot on the left-hand side, it's not very noticeable, but to be safe I bought a laptop fan just to minimize the potential long term effects of the heat.
- This laptop is definitely not portable. Sure you can carry it, but it's way to big to take to a lecture or something.
- Some of the programs HP pre-installs are really weird and not helpful at all, luckily all can be taken off.
Overall it's WELL worth the price tag, if you need a laptop that is incredibly powerful, looks great and runs well, this should be on your list!

The keyboard is AWFUL. It is SOOOO difficult to type.
Sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

They rebate program £150 for my old laptop, payed only £85 (nechnicall not payed yet, after 2.5 months)
